Like many modern love stories, our's began on a dating app (thanks, Hinge!) We matched on a sunny Saturday in September 2023. As we were messaging and setting up a date for the following weekend, Josh was at a local sports bar called Neighbors in Nashville watching college football. As fate would have it, Meghan was about to hop in an Uber to the very same bar to meet up with a friend to watch the UT vs South Carolina football game. Once Meghan arrived, it didn't take long for us to realize our tables happened to be right next to each other. After some liquid courage, Josh went over to talk to Meghan and the rest is history!

The Nashville Airport is very easy to fly in and out of, 10 minutes from Downtown Nashville, and approximately 30 minutes from Franklin. You can easily rent a car or Uber/Lyft to and from the airport to anywhere in Nashville.

The Harpeth Franklin Downtown is our preferred choice right in downtown Franklin offering a cute southern small town experience, two blocks from shops, great restaurants, and the wedding venue. We will be staying there throughout the wedding weekend! Due to the vast amount of activities in and around Nashville and Franklin, we have decided to forego a hotel room block to enable guests to enjoy our city their way! With there being hundreds of options for every rewards program possible, a couple of our suggestions for Franklin and Nashville are below to help potentially narrow down the choices.

Franklin Area Hotels

Located in Franklin, 22 miles from Bridgestone Arena, The Harpeth Franklin Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton has accommodations with a fitness center, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Featuring a bar, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. The property provides room service, a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage for guests. The rooms come with a desk and a flat-screen TV, and some rooms at the hotel have a balcony. All rooms will provide guests with a fridge. At The Harpeth Franklin Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton you'll find a restaurant serving American cuisine. Vegetarian, dairy-free and vegan options can also be requested. The area is popular for hiking and cycling, and bike rental is available at the accommodation. Ryman Auditorium is 22 miles from The Harpeth Franklin Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton, while Lane Motor Museum is 22 miles from the property. Nashville International Airport is 21 miles away.

All guest rooms at the hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a kitchenette. Guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. Guests at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Franklin Cool Springs can enjoy a buffet or an American breakfast. The accommodation has a terrace. Eat like a local: Try Nashville’s famous hot chicken at Hattie B’s, or enjoy our favorite restaurant 5th &amp; Taylor, around the corner from where we live in our little Germantown neighborhood. Shop &amp; stroll: Check out the 12 South neighborhood or The Gulch for boutiques, coffee shops, and murals perfect for photos.

Just a short drive south of Nashville, Franklin offers small-town charm and beautiful countryside. Historic Downtown Franklin: Wander along Main Street for local shops, restaurants, and a taste of Tennessee hospitality. The Factory at Franklin: A charming historic building, a cornerstone of Franklin, TN history, that has been transformed into a lively hub for shopping, dining, events, and more. It’s a place where you can feel the heartbeat of Franklin and truly connect with the local spirit. Arrington Vineyards: Pack a picnic, sip local wine, and enjoy the rolling hills—it’s a perfect afternoon spot.

A Few Tips

Getting around: Rideshares (Uber/Lyft) are easy to find, but parking in downtown Nashville can be limited and costly. Franklin has plenty of free parking available on the street and in garages. Be sure to not back in when you park in the garages as they will be around to ticket you quickly! Weather: Tennessee weather can change quickly, especially in April—check the forecast before you pack! Travel time: Nashville and Franklin are about 30 minutes apart, so plan a little extra time if you’re exploring both.
